Beth Wheatley

Owner of Lots for Tots and Host of Lets Talk Tots

Hi, I’m Beth, wife to Alex and Mum to Elijah & Ezra - so I’m no stranger to the Derby parenting scene. During the last few years, Lots for Tots has always been the magazine I’ve made sure I’ve got a copy of to help me find new activities, events or places to go for play dates and even attempt the occasional warm cuppa with friends!

When Lots for Tots came available for sale in 2022 after 14 years of distribution by the previous owner, I knew I wanted to take over the reins of such a vital and important guide for families. I am passionate for making sure Lots for Tots continues to showcase local businesses and services whilst supporting families on this wonderful journey of parenting. I’m proud of the community we are building here in Derbyshire and excited to see this expand into other regions.

Laura Jonas

Lots for Tots Nottinghamshire Editor

Hello, I’m wife to 1, and mum to 4 little ones aged from 9-1.. so I’m pretty well versed in all things tots (if that’s a thing?! I’m definitely still learning things 4th time round). As well as being a mum, I also own a small design business, working around the children.

After baby number 4, I know all too well the importance of interaction with other mums and children. For making the most of the precious time, for the giving and receiving of advice, and for the MUCH needed support. Both myself and my children have made lifelong friends from the way we used our time in the younger years, so it’s a joy to facilitate that love and support for others through Lots for Tots!

Nikki Edwards

Editor of Lots for Tots Staffordshire & Cohost on Lets Talk Tots

Hi, I'm Nikki, a mum of two girls under 6 and wife to Andy. Since having my children I don't underestimate how important those early years are, and how scary they can feel. Although a former teacher, I am now a small business owner running classes for babies and toddlers in Derby.

The community that Lots for Tots creates has been instrumental in my growth as a mum and a small business owner. I am so excited to be a part of the Lots for Tots team, connecting parents and business across Staffordshire. I have always been open and honest about the good and the bad, the highs and lows of life to anyone who will listen! It is so important that no one ever feels alone, and we all use our voices to lift each other up. I am so excited to be a cohost on the Let's Talk Tots podcast.

Emily Edwards

Cohost of Lets Talk Tots

I’m Emily, Wife and Mum of 2. Since having my boys, Teddy & Rocco, my time mainly consists of anything outdoors; lots of walks, parks & bike riding practice & the conversations in our house usually contain some form of toilet humour or are superhero, food or slime related.

I worked in childcare for 12 years, before leaving the industry in 2020, when Teddy was 18 months & taking a part time job within the NHS, allowing me to spend more time at home. Subsequently that is where Beth & I met & soon realised we had a very similar sense of humour & laid back personality. After a short 6 months working together, we have stuck together ever since, with our youngest boys being born just 14 weeks apart, we have attempted to keep each other sane whilst navigating our way through the chaos of parenting our collective brood of 4 crazy boys all under school age.

Boogie Woogie Babes

Lots for tots has helped me bring new children to my classes with little effort from myself.
The magazine is very well known and has a great reputation. I often hear parents talking about how they find their classes/events through it. It is an easy way to advertise and I would highly recommend it.

Working with Beth has been an absolute pleasure. She is friendly, professional and efficient. Her fresh take and passion for the magazine is clear I am so excited to see the direction in which it will go. Beth is always happy to help and listen to ideas and views. She is a real advocate for activities and businesses for young families. I can't see me looking to advertise elsewhere! Thank you Beth.

Nikki at Moo Music

Lots for Tots have been a supportive organisation of Bridge the Gap, advertising our upcoming sessions free of charge as we are a community interest company. This allows for families to access low cost emotional education, vital for children’s mental health long term. Beth is always so organised, professional and a credit to the magazine, which is incredibly helpful for families locally. We find the magazine is often picked up by parents in our reception area and so there is a definite need for Lots for Tots in Derby.
